Factors Associated with High Job Satisfaction Among Care Workers in Swiss Nursing Home

Cross sectional study of Swiss nursing homes aimed to better understand factors associated with improved job satisfaction.  

Supportive leadership was most strongly linked with job satisfaction; leadership recruitment strategies and training are recommended. Teamwork, resident safety climate, resonate administrator, staffing, fewer conflicts, less burnout, and fewer physical problems are other factors identified with better job satisfaction.  

RESOURCE SUMMARY

While the relationship between nurses’ job satisfaction and their work in hospital environments is well known, it remains unclear, which factors are most influential in the nursing home setting. The purpose of this study was to describe job satisfaction among care workers in Swiss nursing homes and to examine its associations with work environment factors, work stressors, and health issues.
